November 26, 2009 Three medium voltage motors manufactured by OOO Leningrad Electric Machine Engineering Plant (Saint-Petersburg) upon the request of
JSC SPIK SZMA passed factory tests and were shipped to the end user according to the contract for complete delivery of ventilation motor control system for
ZAO Vorgashorskaya Mine – 2. Simultaneously the automated fan unit control system as a part of this project was tested.
The control system was designed and manufactured at the company’s assembling facility and realized on the controllers V2000 by Toshiba.

November 24, 2009 The seminar on hazard analysis and technogenic risk assessment in Russian scientific researches took place on the 23rd of November in R&D centre
“Industrial safety”. Senior specialist of SPIK SZMA, Alexander Mozhaev, Professor gave a report: “Theory, application experience and tendency of general logic
probabilistic method and software "ARBITR" complex for automated structural logic simulation and assessment of the system reliability and safety measures”.
The scientific seminar is held twice a year in Moscow; its objectives are discussion and approbation of new tendency in researches on industrial safety and

October 27, 2009 Kirill Sorokin, the engineering department specialist, has done a three-week training called "Advanced Field Devices and Control" in
Tokyo as a part of long-term cooperation with Japan Cooperation Center, Petroleum.
The training was related to experience of distributed control system implementation in oil refineries in Japan.

Project designing for retrofit of the compressor control system (CC-201,
CC-301 for the plant LC-6U#2) was completed under the contract with Mozyr Oil Refinery.
Up-to-date PCS7 system by Siemens will be installed instead of the existing Simatic S5. Besides, unit antisurge protection was provided.
In accordance with the project, SPIK SZMA assembled and carried out FAT of the new control system at its Assembling Facility,
the system was further delivered to the Customer for installation. The control system will be replaced during scheduled repair of the plant.
August 20, 2009 On August 18, 2009, Oil & Gas Quality Group, Energy Division of Siemens AG conducted an audit of SPIK SZMA's Assembling Facility
in order to accredit SPIK SZMA as an official supplier of Siemens control systems. The Assembling Facility has shown its full compliance with Siemens requirements.
June 29, 2009 SPIK SZMA will take part in the International Research and Practice Conference on power savings of the heat utilities. The conference is held on July 9, 2009 at the Institute of Complex Development and Training ‘Krona’ (University of Plant Polymers).
SPIK SZMA specialists will deliver a report on "Toshiba Products Application for Energy and Resource Savings".

April 13, 2009 At the request of Kirishi Oil Refinery, the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology has tested SPIK SZMA's software - Automated system for metrological equipment accounting (ASUMO), version 3.0 - for meeting the Requirements for the metrological firmware compliance with Rostechregulation's automated inspection results accounting system.
Proceeding from testing results, the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology confirmed compliance of ASUMO software (version 3.0) to the above mentioned requirements, therefore, this software may be used by the metrological groups authorized to provide the equipment inspection on their own with further submitting the results to Rostechregulation's automated accounting system.
February 25, 2009 SPIK SZMA won the tender held by Severstal Resource for delivery of the motor control system of the main ventilation unit #4 at Vorgashorskaya mine (Vorkutaugol JSC).
The scope of delivery includes two medium-voltage invertors TMdrive-MV by TMEIC (Japan), three medium-voltage motors, and an automation & control system.
The project designing (in cooperation with Giproshakht designing institute) and system delivery will be provided till the end of 2009.
January 23, 2009 On January 20-22, 2009, a workshop was held in SPIK SZMA training center devoted to the up-to-date Toshiba low and medium voltage power equipment: soft starters, vacuum circuit breakers and contactors.
The information was presented by Toshiba International Corporation (TIC) and SPIK SZMA specialists. These products are used for various applications and are supplied to CIS countries within the framework of SPIK SZMA and TIC joint project - Tosma.
At SPIK SZMA training center, the seminars and trainings on power equipment and automation systems are held on a regular basis.
